Essay Contest

Students in grades K-12 are invited to submit a 1-2 page essay on “What would your life and the world look like for a day without water?” for a chance to win free tickets to the St. Louis Aquarium and St. Louis Wheel.  Essays will be accepted from March 14th, 2022 to no later than 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 22nd, 2022. Winners will be notified on May 6th, 2022.

Essays must be hand-written, in the student’s own writing*. Entries may be submitted by one of the following methods:

  • Emailing photos of the hand-written essay to education@stlaquariumfoundation.org by no later than 11:59 pm on Friday, April 22, 2022. Please make the subject of your email “Essay Contest – (student’s name) – (student’s grade level)”
  • Dropping it off in person at the Conservation & Education Center welcome desk at Union Station (201 S. 18th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103) no later than 7 pm on Friday, April 22, 2022. Please label it with your child’s name and grade level.

Essays will be selected by creativity and skill in answering the question. Three students (one winner and two runner-ups) will be selected from each age group of the following:

  • Kindergarten-2nd grade
  • 3rd-5th grade
  • 6th-8th grade
  • 9th-12th grade

 Winners in each age group will receive 4 Aquarium and Wheel Tickets and $25.00 gift card to the Gift Shop. The runner-ups in each group will receive 2 Aquarium and Wheel Tickets.
